Santa takes time out from his busy pre-Christmas schedule for care home visit in Shotts

Residents at a Shotts care home received an early Christmas visit from Santa himself.

Father Christmas took time out from his busy schedule to meet the residents in a socially-distanced visit.

The event was organised by the care home and in collaboration with locally-based Thomson Dairies.

A dairy spokesperson said: “The staff had made us aware that they would want a visit to cheer up and boost morale as the residents have been unable to get visitors for a long period of time.

“We had to custom build a sleigh which was no mean feat and we managed to get towed around.”

Recently, infant pupils from Dykehead Primary School in Shotts also spread some festive cheer when they paid the residents of Rosehall a wee visit.

The boys and girls showed off their Nativity and festive costumes, sang some infamous Christmas jingles, and wished all the residents a very loud Merry Christmas.
