Santa swaps sleigh for paddleboard at local beach in days before Christmas

Father Christmas has been super busy over the last couple of days but even he needs some downtime.

In these rather bleak Covid times, Santa has been lifting spirits as he took to the sea in East Lothian.

But there was no scuba suit in sight as Santa donned his work clothes, including the hat.

Much to the entertainment of passing locals, the big man was pictured paddle boarding at Musselburgh Beach in East Lothian.

Sharing a photo of Santa on earlier this week, Sarah Whyte wrote: "Santa spotted today at the Harbour."

Speaking to Edinburgh Live , she said she was happy to spread some much-needed cheer with the snap.

The photo racked up over 700 likes on Facebook, with people praising Santa for cheering everyone up.

One person commented: "Aw it’s nice to see someone with a sense of humour."

"That is so fantastic," wrote another person.
