Santa's in town! Super-festive neon sleigh will visit Edinburgh's Waverley Bridge tonight

Families spending their Christmas Eve in Edinburgh's city centre could be in for quite the treat tonight.

For the famous neon Santa's sleigh will be stopping by Waverley Bridge from 9pm.

Well, the big guy is in town anyway so we guess it makes sense.

The team behind the sleigh, The Garage at Whitburn, say they'll be spreading some festive cheer at the city centre location as the clock ticks towards Christmas Day.

The special sleigh – a roadworthy converted Suzuki Vitara – was put together by mechanic and garage owner Ian Robertson, who has even since been dubbed SantaLad.

Since 2015 the sleigh has been visiting the Sick Kids hospital in Edinburgh and has this year once again been doing loads of great work – treating young people across Edinburgh and the Lothians to some special Christmas magic.

The car, or sleigh, took £1000 to build, and Edinburgh Live previously reported how it had gone viral after being spotted on roads in and around Edinburgh.

If you spot the sleigh tonight feel free to send us your photos – we'd love to see them. Contact us at news@edinburghlive.co.uk.
