Santa Claus urged to tackle his latent misogyny

It has precisely nothing to do with celebrities, but Lost in Showbiz feels totally festive on spotting its first "The Man is killing Christmas" story, and is thus graciously moved to share it with readers. According to a clutch of Sydney department store Santas - and God, we've all been clutched by one or two - they have been banned from saying "ho, ho, ho" this year, on account of it could be taken as a derogatory reference to women.

Typically thoughtful, of course, but you have to think our Antipodean friends are walking a fine line with this one. As an unregistered immigrant worker, Santa already runs the risk of being left to die on his sleigh should it suffer some kind of malfunction as he attempts to enter the country; couple this with the prospect of having to take a lecture in sexism from some Australians, and he might come to judge the annual Down Under drop-off more hassle than it's worth.
