Sanquhar's Festival of Folkore to launch with collection of 120 paintings of Robert Burns

Dumfriesshire’s Festival of Folklore will launch on Thursday with a world premiere exhibition of artist Duncan Brown’s remarkable collection of 120 paintings of Robert Burns.

Duncan said all the images are from his imagination and based on the national Bard’s life.

They will be on show at Sanquar’s A’ the Airts Community Arts Centre which has been working with Dumfries-based Mostly Ghostly Tours and the Upper Nithsdale Tourism Partnership to create the programme for the third Festival of Folklore which runs until Sunday.

It offers live and online events based on the rich history, heritage, myth and magic of Upper Nithsdale. Duncan’s exhibition is on through October.
