Sanquhar community comes together to enjoy Christmas lights switch on

The Royal Burgh of Sanquhar saw the community come together to enjoy its Christmas lights switched on at the weekend.

Sanquhar Academy school captains Geddes Clark and Jill Watson performed the switch-on honours and there was musical entertainment from Sanquhar Silver Band and the Upper Nithsdale Youth Pipe Band.

Residents enjoyed browsing around the stalls and tucking into hot food while there was a mini funfair for children and a visit by Santa.
