Sanity saver: keep your brain active with our online puzzles

We are all probably spending more time on our tech devices in these days of coronavirus-inspired isolation. (There are only so many times you can walk round the backyard, after all.) But that doesn't mean our brains need to turn to mush.

Online puzzles are a way to fill in the time AND keep your brain active.

Through our website, readers have access to three of the most popular puzzles doing the rounds - crosswords, sudoku and trivia - available for free, 24/7 on your mobile, tablet or desktop computer.

The puzzles, from renown Australian puzzle company Lovatts, are updated daily and pose challenges that run from easy to difficult.

Most puzzles come with instructions (look for the "info" or "about" links) so, even if you're a newbie to the world of online puzzles, you should soon be comfortable navigating your way around the grids.

The classic crossword is considered of moderate difficulty, there are four skill levels to tackle each day in the sudoku section, while the trivia quiz comes with seven categories: General Knowledge, Dictionary, Entertainment, History, Food + Drink, Geography, Science + Nature. Each category contains 10 multiple-choice quiz questions.

You'll get your score at the end of each puzzle so you can see how you rate against others.

There's a direct click-through to the Puzzles page in the top left of our website (top right if you're reading on mobile). Or find the page under the Life & Style section.
