BALTIMORE -- Abdul Hakim Sani Brown became the second Japanese sprinter to run the 100 meters in less than 10 seconds on Saturday.
The 20-year-old track star of the University of Florida clocked 9.99 with a tailwind of 1.8 meters per second in the final round of the Southeastern Conference Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
The first Japanese sprinter to break the 10-second mark was Yoshihide Kiryu, who finished in 9.98 at the Japan Intercollegiate Championships in September 2017.
