Sandra Oh, Andy Samberg are the nicest people in Hollywood as Golden Globes hosts

Golden Globes hosts Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg couldn't avoid the dark reality of Hollywood, but they were somehow able to make it funny.

The two TV stars opened the show by offering the Oscars to a lucky audience member before breaking into a gag about how they were the only two people left in show business who "haven't gotten in trouble for saying something offensive."

"Oh, Sandra, that reminds me. You know what race of people really get under my skin?" Samberg asked. "The Hollywood half marathon, because it messes up all the traffic."

The two then took aim at their audience.

"Spike Lee, Mr. Do The Right Thing," Samberg, whose "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" moves to NBC Thursday night, said. "Well, I'll tell you who does the right thing: you, as a director."

The only thing Oh could come up with to say about Bradley Cooper was that he was "hot," while it was "weird" that "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez was there because "last time I checked, she resides in heaven," the 47-year-old "Killing Eve" star said.

Oh and Samberg were the surprise hits of the 2018 Emmy Awards, when they presented the trophy for outstanding directing for a comedy series together.

In a more serious moment, Oh took a moment to celebrate the newly discovered diversity.

"I said yes to the fear of being on this stage tonight because _ because I wanted to be here to look out into this audience and witness this moment of change," she said. "And I'm not fooling myself. I'm not fooling myself. Next year could be different. It probably will be. But right now, this moment is real. Because I see you. And I see you. All of these faces of change. And now so will everyone else."
