Sandra Bullock broke down into tears as she and her rarely-seen daughter surprised a nurse battling on the coronavirus front line.
The 55-year-old Hollywood actress was joined by her eight-year-old adopted daughter Laila to surprise a nurse named April Buencamimo on Friday.
April is a nurse manager at a coronavirus unit in a Los Angeles hospital where Sandra gifted 6,000 protective masks to staff fighting the deadly battle.
Sandy was joining Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook talk show Red Table Talk – with Laila joining as an extra special gift to offer thanks to April and her team for their continued work.
Addressing the camera from her mother’s lap, Laila declared: “Hi ladies… Thank you, April, for doing everything for everyone. Stay safe for your family.”
Sandra also tearfully thanks April for her work in the fight against COVID-19.
"April, thank you for - I'll try and say this without crying - but thank you for everything you are doing because we get to sit here and be home with our families because you are out there doing the hard work,” the Oscar winner said.
"And there isn't a dinner and grace that goes by without sending you the love and appreciation and gratitude we as a family have because we are safe - and we thank you so much,” she added.
Jada, 48, then revealed the Will And Jada Smith Foundation would donate $50,000 (£40,000) to April’s hospital.
She also told the health worker that she would pay for her and her family to enjoy a holiday once the pandemic subsides to a safe level.
Sandra has an adopted son named Louis who is believed to be around ten-years-old.
The actress began the adoption process for her son when she was married to TV star Jesse James, 51 – however when they split and divorced in 2010, Sandra opted to continue the adoption process for Louis as a single parent.
She adopted Laila in 2015.
