Sanditon viewers were left gobsmacked over an x-rated sex scene, joking that they were "scarred for life" afterwards.
The Jane Austen adaptation, which has already attracted ire from some fans for being too raunchy, raised eyebrows tonight as the heat raised up a notch.
After villain Edward desperately tried to find Lady Denham's will, he was seduced by Clara as they tore each other's clothes off and started romping on the cold marble floor.
And fans couldn't believe what they were watching.
One tweeted: "ew no no! so wrong #sanditon."
While another commented: "Not quite like any of the Jane Austin novels I’ve read! #Sanditon."
A third remarked: "Nah this is all a bit farcical now. That floor looks like it would be painful as f*** too. #Sanditon."
