The year's hit RPG could be coming to Switch 2, but it's not happening soon.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might just be the breakout hit of the year, surprising critics and players alike with a focused RPG stuffed with emotional storylines and impressive gameplay. Naturally, while the title is available on Steam, Xbox Series S/X, and PS5, many are also hoping it could grace Nintendo Switch 2 so folks can defeat The Paintress on the go.
Luckily, it seems developer Sandfall Interactive hopes for exactly the same thing, likely partly due to almost certain increased sales on the platform. While there has been no mention of a Switch 2 port so far, a new quote from the developer has given fans hope.
Website Nintenderos reached out to Sandfall Interactive on the subject of porting Clair Obscur to Switch 2, and got a response from the developer themselves that shows the team is at the very least trying to make a port happen.

"We have some possibilities that we will explore, but at the moment we cannot confirm anything," the developer said. It's certainly not a concrete announcement, but it would make a lot of sense for the title to appear on the platform.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 would fit right at home on the Switch 2, with RPGs feeling very natural to play in handheld mode, and considering the game already runs on Xbox Series S, it's not a wild idea that the title could run on a platform that already has solid ports of Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, and Street Fighter 6.
Hopefully, Clair Obscur does eventually make its way over, but with many developers claiming it's difficult to get hold of Switch 2 dev kits currently, it may be a while before this port actually happens.
