Sand mural to Tiger Woods appears on St Andrews beach following horror car crash

A huge sand tribute to Tiger Woods has appeared at St Andrews beach following news of his horror crash.

The golfing legend was rushed to hospital following a “high speed” car accident in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday, February 23.

The mural, created by American caddie Robert Lloyd Ogle III, appeared at the “home of golf” yesterday.

It features the sporting ace’s initials along with the words, “Thoughts and prayers”.

Stunning drone footage taken by Robert shows the massive mural sat in front of the St Andrews golf course.

Ex-pat Robert created the intricate pattern himself in an hour.

“I designed and created it with a rake and captured it with a drone,” he said.

A huge fan of Tiger Woods, Robert felt compelled to send a message of support to the stricken golfer.

"I am an avid golfer and caddie when Covid isn’t present.

"It’s the least I could’ve done for someone who has done so much for the game and those who play it," he said.

On Tuesday night, Woods, 45, received surgery for multiple leg injuries after being extricated from the wreckage by fire crews.

He is currently recovering in hospital and says he has "no memory" of the smash.

Today it was revealed that he will not face any charges in relation to the collision.
