KANSAS CITY, Mo. _ Carlos Sanchez's three-run homer off Royals reliever Kelvin Herrera helped lift the White Sox to a 7-4 victory Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.

Alex Avila hit an RBI single and Avisail Garcia walked to set up Sanchez's go-ahead shot to right field. Melky Cabrera added a solo home run in the ninth.

Sox left-hander Chris Sale pitched 41/3 perfect innings before the Royals broke through with three hits and two runs in the fifth inning. They added two runs in the sixth to take the lead.
