San Marino vs Scotland live: Stream, time, score, goals, team news, TV channel, updates from Euro 2020 qualifier

Scotland will be looking to bounce back against San Marino after their humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Kazakhstan.

After that shock upset, San Marino will certainly fancy their chances against Alex McLeish's side - despite being the lowest-ranked country in world football and having conceded 37 goals in their last ten matches.

Scotland must now secure a win to keep their hopes of automatically qualifying for Euro 2020 alive.

Follow the live action below:

Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of Wales vs Slovakia.
The first game of Wales' European Championship qualification campaign is perhaps the most important. Ryan Giggs' side will know that, after victories for Slovakia and Croatia last week, a win here is crucial.

Slovakia will be tough opposition, though. Pavel Hapal's team have shown signs of progress in recent months and come into the game on the back of a 2-0 win over Hungary.

Wales, meanwhile, were in friendly action last week, leaving it late to beat Trinidad and Tobago at Wrexham's Racecourse stadium. They will need to be on the front foot this afternoon in what feels already like a game they cannot afford to lose.

Team News

It's been a story of inconsistency for Ryan Giggs as Wales manager so far. The former Manchester United manager described his opening year in charge of the national team as a "free hit". Today, things get serious.

"No matter what the results were, it's important for us to get off to a good start," Giggs has said.

"First game at home it's not going to be easy. They are coming here with three points and something to either hold on for or go on and win and be in a strong position so we will need to be up for it."

Gareth Bale will, inevitably, be the focal point for Wales in attack this afternoon. But he is joined by several promising youngsters: David Brooks, Harry Wilson and Swansea speedster Daniel James all start.

There's no Aaron Ramsey, of course, but Bale is confident Wales can deal with the Arsenal midfielder's absence:

Wales tend to be fast starters, so that bodes well for today's game. Given the quality of their opposition, though, it's not likely to be straightforward.
The teams are out at the Cardiff City Stadium! It's time for the anthems.
KICK OFF
After a typically rousing rendition of Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, Wales get us underway!
Wales 0-0 Slovakia

3 minutes

Slovakia start on the front foot, keeping possession and winning a corner on the left. The set piece is taken short and eventually worked to Vavro, who fires a shot well over the bar.
GOAL!
GOAL! Wales 1-0 Slovakia (James)

5 minutes

What a start! Wales break down the right through Brooks and Wilson, but the former under-cooks his pass into Daniel James. The Swansea youngster immediately wins it back, though, and then drills a powerful shot low into the bottom corner. A goal on his competitive debut, and the perfect start for Wales.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

10 minutes

Slovakia are having plenty of possession, but they're exposed on the counter attack. Wales' pace is causing the visitors problems and Bale is very nearly set free down the left. Vavro stops him, but he's penalised for handball. Brooks' free kick, though is disappointing and cleared easily.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

14 minutes

It's been an energetic start from the hosts, particularly in the final third. Wales are repeatedly winning the ball high up and finding spaces behind Slovakia's midfield.
YELLOW CARD
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

15 minutes

Mak is the first player to go into the book for a late challenge on Roberts.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

16 minutes

Wilson curls a wicked delivery into the box, which Vavro does well to head behind. A second Wales goal doesn't seem too far away at the moment.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

19 minutes

Bale picks is played in behind on the left and surges past his marker. He drills a low cross into the box but it evades everyone in a red shirt.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

21 minutes

Close! Davies overlaps on the left and picks out Brooks waiting in the middle. The Bournemouth man swings his left foot at the ball but guides it just wide of the near post. This has been an impressive opening 20 minutes from Wales.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

26 minutes

Slovakia look nervous at the back as Brooks, James and Bale continue to cause problems. The visitors make a rare forage forward at the other end, but there's been very little end product to their play in the final third.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

27 minutes

Better from the visitors. Kucka breaks into the box from the right and drills a shot towards goal. It's blocked but Slovakia work a chance from the resulting corner. Hamsik, who has been kept relatively quiet so far, slips before he can capitalise on the opportunity.
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

30 minutes

Slovakia are growing into the game, penning Wales into their own half for the first time. The hosts are defending robustly, though.
YELLOW CARD
Wales 1-0 Slovakia

31 minutes

Just as Slovakia looked to be establishing some control, Wales break again. Bale releases James, who's taken out by Vavro. He goes into the book.
