We did it. Sixty four teams entered our fake online NCAA tournament bracket, and one team is now the champion: San Diego State ran away with the title in a blowout win over St. Mary’s.
The games were won by fan votes, and San Diego State had a whole lot of them.
The Aztecs entered the tournament strong as a two-seed, and did nothing from there but take care of business. Comfortable wins over Eastern Washington, Houston, and West Virginia led to a showdown with No. 1 seed Gonzaga in the Elite 8, and San Diego State was up for it.
That could have been enough for some teams, but they wanted more. Blowout wins over Iowa in the Final Four and St. Mary’s in the title game gave them the coveted, fake, fan-voted bracket win.
