Samuel L Jackson yells compliments at neighbours on Some Good News: 'Hey! Your shirt matches your dog!'

The sixth episode of John Krasinski's show Some Good News included a segment where Samuel L Jackson yelled compliments to his neighbours.

The Hollywood star was one of a number of celebrities to guest star on his fellow actor's show, which grows more popular with each episode.

The channel now has more than 2.2m subscribers, and the latest episode had over 170k views just hours after being uploaded.

Krasinski opened the show by reading out his usual list of positive news stories, including one about two girls who wanted to cheer their neighbours up by complimenting them as they passed their house.

After pointing out the unfortunate absence of any video footage of this moment, Krasinski cut to Samuel L Jackson for a dramatic reenactment of the compliments the girls had given.

Standing outside his own house, Jackson is shown yelling: "Hey! Your shirt matches your dog! I like that about you!"

He also shouted: "I don't now if you have hair under your hat, but if you do, I bet it's beautiful!"

Finally, he offered: "Your dog's face is almost cute as my fave when I was a baby."

Other moments on the episode included Krasinski surprising US graduates with a special video appearance from their idols, including Oprah, Malala, and Steven Spielberg.

Ryan Reynolds stood outside his home to give the weather report: "Looks pretty good."
