Samuel L Jackson urges people 'Stay the f*** at home' in coronavirus warning

Samuel L Jackson performed an expletive-laden poem to urge fans to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The legendary actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, where he swore his way through a revamped version of Adam Mansbach's Go the F**** to Sleep, aptly titled Stay the F*** at Home.

The Avengers star was delivering a reworking of his iconic reading of the piece, a "children's book for adults", which went viral almost a decade ago.

He told Kimmel the author had contacted him and asked him to read a new take on his work, which Jackson had previously done for a classic audiobook.

He started the performance by saying: "The 'rona' is spreading, this s*** is no joke, it's no time to work or roam. The way you can fight it is simple my friends, just stay the f*** at home."

The poem, like the original, mixes profanity with a sing-song rhythm of children's bedtime stories.

It warns people to wash their hands and to follow social distancing rules, as well as urging people to stay at home to stop the spread of the virus.

Samuel went on: "Now technically, I'm not a doctor but most f****** listen when I read a poem, so here I am Sam f****** Jackson imploring you, keep your a** at home.

And he also featured the hilarious lines: "Mother****** it's no time to gamble, look around, you're not in a casino. Just stay the f*** at home as if your name was Trenton Quarantino.

"Sure you can still see your friends, use the mother******g app on your phone. But unless you just ran out of groceries, please, stay the f*** at home."

The 71-year-old appeared on the US talk show via video link from his home theater, which displayed posters for some of his biggest movies.
