Samuel L Jackson and other celebrities to be the voice of Amazon Alexa

Some could argue Samuel L Jackson has the best voice in Hollywood.

And now you can listen to him all day long as he speaks from your Amazon Alexa - albeit it virtually.

He is the first celebrity voice to be mimicked from the personal assistant and will be available to users later this year for a small price.

At Amazon's event in Seattle on Wednesday, the tech giant said they intend to charge 80p for each voice.

They also announced other updates to the device such as a refresh of their range of Echo speakers and its first Alexa-powered earphones - Echo buds.

More celeb voices will feature next year (PA)

Alexa owners will be able to interact with an AI version of the American award-winning actor developed by the company's neural text-to-speech technology.

Jackon is renowned for his one-liners in Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Avengers, A Time To Kill and more.

The voice feature of the 70-year-old film star will aim to make use of his colourful language and users will be able to turn its ability to swear on or off.

Further famous voices will be released in 2020.

The full list of new devices:

  • Echo Frames - a pair of titanium-framed glasses that vibrate to provide notifications, and have built-in microphones and speakers to use Alexa
  • Echo Buds - a pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds that feature noise-reduction tech, which can activate the firm's virtual assistant by voice alone
  • Echo Loop - a ring that features two microphones and a 'tap-on' button, which allows owners to record messages and send them to an Echo smart speaker
  • Fetch - a pet tracker designed to attach to a dog collar
