Samuel L Jackson and Mark Ruffalo tweet topless pictures as part of male breast cancer awareness campaign

Samuel L Jackson and Mark Ruffalo are among the actors who have been tweeting topless photos of themselves in order to challenge the stigma surrounding male breast cancer.

Jackson has joined up with One For The Boys’ #InTheNipOfTime campaign, which aims to raise awareness of male breast cancer.

He provides the voiceover for a clip airing as part of the campaign, which tells men “cop a feel of yourself” and encourages them to share topless photos of themselves to raise awareness.

“Men can’t just get man boobs. Nope, they can get breast cancer, too. So when you’re thinking about copping a feel, cop a feel of yourself. Don’t be the strong, silent type. If unsure, say something," he says in the video.

He then tweeted a photo of his nipple to his 5.3m followers.

“Checkin’ Myself before I Wreck Myself!! Taken #InTheNipOfTime All in aid of @One4TheBoys Get Ur Nips Out! Your Turn!” he said.

He was joined by Avengers actor Mark Ruffalo, who tweeted a topless photo in support, while rugby player Jim Hamilton shared a photo of his Saracens team-mates supporting the cause.

One For The Boys said in a statement: “Our main objective is to get men talking about cancer by removing the myths around it, and changing their attitudes towards their health.

“We aim to get men paying more attention to their bodies when something might be wrong.”
