Samuel Edozie's starting claim and Ruben Dias' clumsiness among five Man City talking points

1. Next stop, Wembley: Manchester City's 4-1 win over Blackpool wrapped up their last game before the Community Shield and it is hard to imagine the team looking radically different when they line up against Leicester.

Pep Guardiola made just one change from the side that beat Barnsley on Saturday, bringing Ilkay Gundogan in for James McAtee as the German purred back into action with two goals in a typically class performance.

Bernardo Silva looked decent off the bench and Kevin De Bruyne is back in training, but most of this XI here are almost certain to start at Wembley. It is good news for the manager that Mahrez and Ruben Dias have been able to play a part in all friendlies, and promising for the likes of Sam Edozie that they could yet get another appearance and the chance of a medal.

2. Edozie's hot streak continues: There is always at least one breakthrough from the pre-season games and Edozie is it for this year.

The young winger continued his hot streak in front of goal, netting in a third consecutive friendly as his cool chip gave the Blues the lead after just three minutes.

He put in another committed performance on the left and will done his chances of more first team involvement under Guardiola this season no harm by making a few headlines for himself in these warm-up matches.

Aged just 18, there is plenty of potential still to be untapped.

3. Dias gets done: A few moments to shrug off for Dias as he works his way back to fitness.

Blackpool played with their attackers up high on the City backline, ready to sprint onto any through balls against Dias and Nathan Ake - neither are blessed with that much pace from a standing start.

City got away with one when a chance was blazed over the bar, but Dias had no defence after being beaten in the box by Shayne Lavery and giving away a penalty as he clumsily tried to recover the situation.

4. Squad spirit: City's success last season was built on a togetherness within the group that propelled them through a pretty bleak winter and saw them race away with the Premier League title.

Fernandinho has been back in pre-season from the first day welcoming everyone, and players have been returning to the friendlies even when they have not been part of the squad. De Bruyne watched the Barnsley game before returning to training and Rodri, Aymeric Laporte and Ferran Torres were in attendance as they prepare to come back this week.

Even if Guardiola would like a few more minutes under their belts before the season starts, it is nice to see them back supporting their teammates.

5. Winning formula: This victory made it three from three for City, and means they head into Saturday's match at Wembley with considerably better results than their opponents Leicester.

A defeat on penalties to Burton for Brendan Rodgers and his men has been followed by a 1-0 loss to Wycombe and a 3-3 draw at QPR.

The Foxes can show that pre-season results don't matter as much as what is gleaned from the performances, but winning any kind of fixture reinforces the confidence of a side and City can head to London feeling pretty decent about their work so far.
