Samsung recently unveiled its first finger-borne wearable, the Galaxy Ring, which is set to be released in July. The device will be available in three colors: gold, silver, and ceramic black. The design features a concave channel running around the ring, giving it a distinctive look.
The Galaxy Ring will come in nine sizes, ranging from Small to Extra-Large, with weights varying from 2.3 grams to 2.9 grams. Despite its lightweight construction, the device promises to offer impressive battery life. The prototypes revealed a battery capacity ranging from 14.5 mAh to 21.5 mAh, with an estimated battery life of five to nine days.
One notable feature of the Galaxy Ring is its ability to function effectively on any finger, unlike some other wearable rings that recommend specific fingers for optimal performance. The device will track sleep using four metrics: heart rate, respiratory rate, night movement, and sleep latency. Additionally, it will offer monthly cycle tracking for users.
Furthermore, Samsung's vice president and head of the digital health team mentioned that the Galaxy Ring can be paired with the Galaxy Watch to enhance data accuracy. This integration is expected to improve the performance of sleep staging, providing users with more detailed insights into their sleep patterns.
