Samsung Electronics launched a new 5G-enabled smartphone in South Korea—the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G. The smartphone is the first A-series device to support 5G and Samsung’s desktop interface DeX. Yonhap News says the Samsung Galaxy A90 has a starting price of 900,000 South Korean won (about ₹53,100).
Samsung Galaxy A90: Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A90 is lit by a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,400x1,080. The display has a U-shaped notch on the top and comes embedded with a fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In terms of photography, the A90 sports a triple rear camera setup led by a 48MP primary sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide angle shooter and a 5MP depth sensor. The U-shaped notch at the front accommodates a 32MP selfie camera.
The smartphone runs Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s One UI.
Samsung hasn’t mentioned about a 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy A90.
The rear panel of the Galaxy A90 sports a rather unusual design. It has a a gradient finish on the top half of the rear glass panel while the rest of the panel has a plain colour. It is available in white and black colour variants.
The smartphone is replaces the Samsung Galaxy A80 as the most premium offering in the A-series. The A80 was launched in India couple of months ago. Priced at ₹47,990, the Galaxy A80 comes with a flip-up camera that can be used as a selfie as well as rear-facing shooter. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone boasts a notch-free Super AMOLED display spanning 6.7-inches diagonally.
