The Samsung community is eagerly anticipating the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 this summer. However, recent revelations about the flagship foldable's battery charging technology may disappoint many users.
According to certification documents issued by the Chinese government, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come bundled with a modest 25W charger. This information aligns with the model number of the 25W charger included with several of Samsung's current products.
While the inclusion of a 25W charger does not definitively confirm that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be limited to 25W charging, the precedent set by the recent Galaxy S24, which also featured a 25W charger, raises concerns. The battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to be similar to that of the Galaxy S24, hinting at a potential 25W charging limitation for the Z Flip 6.
On a positive note, the larger Galaxy S24+ and S24 Ultra models support 45W charging, allowing the larger handset to be fully charged in approximately 90 minutes. Given the flagship status of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, there is hope that it will also offer 45W charging capabilities, unlike its predecessor, the Z Fold 5, which was limited to 25W charging.
If the Galaxy Z Fold 6 indeed supports faster 45W charging, users will need to acquire a larger and more powerful charger to take advantage of this feature.
