Samsung Galaxy S24 users who have been disappointed with the display quality may soon have a solution to their concerns. According to a report from renowned leaker Ice Universe, Samsung is working on a powerful update that will address the display issues.
The update is said to include a new display adjustment tool that will allow users to have more control over on-screen color reproduction. Additionally, there will be a 'Vividness' slider that can be used to boost color output and match the vibrant look of previous Samsung smartphones, like the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This tool is expected to be introduced through a software update.
If the report is accurate, increasing the Vividness slider by one notch will make the Galaxy S24 display match the default color reproduction of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. For those who prefer even more vivid colors, going one step further will result in colors similar to those of the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Many Galaxy S24 owners have expressed their disappointment with the current display's 'washed out' appearance, particularly when using the Vivid mode display option. Samsung's new color controls are likely to please these users, as they will now have the ability to enhance the color output to their liking.

It remains to be seen how Samsung will present these controls to Galaxy S24 owners during the setup process. If users are left to locate and adjust the Vividness slider on their own, it suggests that the display will still default to the controversially 'muted' colors. It is also unclear whether the current Natural and Vivid modes will coexist with the new controls or if the sliders will replace them. If Samsung retains the current modes, it would be ideal for there to be a noticeable and distinct difference between them.
While there is no official information regarding the release date of this update, Samsung users are hopeful that it will be rolled out sooner rather than later. In the meantime, keeping an eye on updates from Samsung is important to stay informed about any potential developments.
