Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: is this premium vacuum worth the sky-high price?

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra.

When Samsung announced it was launching a brand new AI-powered cordless vacuum cleaner, you can just imagine how excited us vacuum cleaner fanatics got. The original Bespoke Jet AI was already pretty impressive, so when I saw that the new model packs a huge 400W of power, I had to double-check I wasn’t seeing things.

I've already rounded up the five reasons you should be excited about its launch, but now it’s time to get into the real deal. Below, you’ll find my full review and my honest thoughts on whether it deserves the new top spot in our best cordless vacuum cleaner buying guide.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: price and availability

Price wise, the Samsung Bespoke Jet AI Ultra comes in at a rather eye-watering £1,199/$1,099. That means it’s definitely one of the most expensive cordless vacuum cleaners we’ve ever come across, if not the most. So, naturally, it’s got a pretty big reputation to live up to.

It's available in two sleek colours – Satin Black and Mint – and you can grab one directly from Samsung’s website or major retailers like John Lewis and Very.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: design and features

I won’t lie – the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is genuinely impressive when it comes to both design and features. There are three standout elements that really set it apart, especially in terms of power and AI functionality.

First up, the 400W suction power is among the best we’ve seen. Samsung claims it's the most powerful vacuum cleaner on the market which I'm not entirely sure about, but it's easily in the top five. If you’ve checked out my guide on what to look for in a cordless vacuum, you’ll know that anything over 200W is already a big deal, so 400W is next-level.

Secondly, we’ve got AI Cleaning Mode 2.0. This clever feature automatically detects up to six different floor types and adjusts suction and brush speed. It’s not the first time we’ve seen something like this – Shark’s Detect series has had a similar feature for a while – but after using it myself over the past few years, I honestly can’t imagine going back to a vacuum that doesn’t do this automatically.

Battery life is another win, and you get up to 100 minutes of runtime on a single charge in minimum mode. However, Samsung throws in a second, lightweight 60-minute battery, so you can swap them out if needed. This is great if you tend to do one big clean a week and a few quick jobs in between, and having both batteries charged and ready means you're never caught off guard.

The All-in-One Clean Station not only stores the vacuum, but also empties dust, charges it, and seals debris into a 2-litre dust bag with minimal mess. It filters out 99.999% of particles using a cyclone system and layered HEPA filters, which are also washable and therefore easier (and cheaper) to maintain.

Design-wise, it’s sleek enough that I wouldn’t even mind leaving it out on display – and I don’t say that often. The telescopic tube can also be adjusted to four different heights, so no more unnecessary bending whilst you clean.

The on-device LCD panel is another high-tech touch, showing suction level, battery status and alerts. Thanks to SmartThings integration, it can also connect to your phone for remote diagnostics, battery health tracking and energy usage insights.

It can even auto-pause when a call comes in, which is ideal if you tend to miss notifications whilst vacuuming. I’m not personally a SmartThings user, but it’s undeniably a futuristic feature that Samsung fans will love.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: attachments

When it comes to attachments, Samsung has far from skimped out. Along with the main Active Dual Brush, you get a Slim LED Brush+ and a Pet Tool+ Brush. Most vacuums include one or two heads max, so three is a real bonus. The Pet Tool is especially handy for catching fine hairs, but can damage surfaces if left spinning in one spot too long, so just be mindful of that.

You also get a combination tool, a long-reach crevice tool and a flex tool for all those hard-to-reach places.

If you’re like me and your vacuum attachments tend to get tossed in a drawer and forgotten, you'll love the accessory cradle. It keeps everything organised and within easy reach, and I really think more vacuum cleaners should come with this.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: performance

I really enjoyed testing the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, and it’s every bit as powerful as it claims to be. It definitely feels like a premium bit of kit, and thankfully, the features mostly live up to that high-end positioning.

There are a few technical things to be aware of. For the AI features to work properly, the dock needs to be plugged in and the vacuum has to be connected via Bluetooth. The AI mode also doesn't work with all attachments – only the two main floorheads – which feels like a bit of a missed opportunity considering how smart the system is. However, when running, the AI mode is genuinely effective, and I could feel the vacuum adjusting its suction depending on the surface. It gives a nice sense that the vacuum is thinking along with you.

Edge detection was a little inconsistent. It sometimes struggled with finer borders or thinner rugs, and I had to do a bit of manual tidying up along the edges. Still, compared to other vacuums I’ve tested, it performed better than most in this area.

Where the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra really stands out is in its battery system and the All-in-One Clean Station. Having two batteries was incredibly useful, and together, they gave me almost two and a half hours of total runtime. That’s a huge win if you have a bigger home or just don’t want to think about recharging mid-clean, and I liked being able to charge one whilst using the other.

The Clean Station also charges the vacuum automatically when docked, and I didn’t need to empty the bin for nearly the full three months I was using it. That kind of hands-off maintenance really makes a difference when you’re cleaning regularly.

The only real sticking point for me is the price. There’s no denying that this is a great vacuum, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it just doesn’t fully justify the cost. It absolutely holds its own against some of the best cordless vacuums out there, but many of those are significantly cheaper – and sometimes even half the price.

If you're already deep into the Samsung SmartThings ecosystem and like the idea of your vacuum fitting in functionally with the rest of your appliances, I can see why this might appeal. However, if you’re not and you just want a great vacuum cleaner, this might not be the right one for you. If Samsung brought it down to around the £600–£700 range, I’d probably be giving it a five-star rating without hesitation.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: verdict

The Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is a seriously impressive cordless vacuum that's packed with thoughtful features that make everyday cleaning easier. The AI Cleaning Mode works well, battery life is excellent, and the All-in-One Clean Station adds a level of convenience that’s hard to beat. Whilst it's easily one of the best cordless vacuums available, it's priced double the cost of other high-end competitors, which is quite hard to fully justify. As it stands, it’s a premium tool with top performance – just not quite the value it needs to be at full price.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: alternatives to consider

If you’re on the lookout for something with similar muscle, I’d suggest checking out the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Pet. It boasts only 20W less power than the Jet AI Ultra and includes similar smart detection features that adjust based on your flooring.

Another solid alternative is the Gtech AirFox Platinum, especially if you’re a fan of the attachment options that the Jet AI Ultra comes with. It’s not quite as powerful and feels a little more flimsy in comparison, but it’s still a great pick and worth considering.
