Sam Warburton's lovely surprise for 90-year-old Cardiff Blues fan

Cardiff Blues' longest-standing fan says he was lost for words when Sam Warburton turned up to act as his chauffeur for the region's final home game of the season.

David Harris, 90, has been a Cardiff RFC and Cardiff Blues fan for 72 years and has been the proud owner of a season ticket since 1946.

And he was given the surprise of his life when ex-Wales and Cardiff Blues skipper Warburton turned up at his house in Cardiff to pick him up and drive him to Cardiff Arms Park to watch the Welsh region play in their last home game of the season against the Ospreys.

Arranged by Land Rover, Cardiff Blues' Principle Partner, the surprise saw the former Lions skipper drive David through Cardiff city centre, discussing David’s love for of the game and Cardiff Blues, as well as Wales’ chances for Rugby World Cup success.

On arrival at the ground's clubhouse, David was presented with a signed Cardiff Blues shirt from Ellis Jenkins and chatted to head coach John Mulvihill ahead of the game.

Speaking after the visit, David said: "I was lost for words when Sam Warburton walked through my living room door!

"To have a living legend sitting on my settee and to drive me personally to watch my beloved Cardiff Blues play is something my family and I will remember forever."
