Sam Smith has released a new single and announced their fifth studio album which will give an “honest account” of the singer’s life over the past few years.

The 34-year-old released the lead single, My Guy, to their upcoming album, Hazel Eyes on Wednesday.

The record, out later this summer, will be Smith’s first record since 2023’s album Gloria which featured the hit single Unholy with Kim Petras.

Revealing the news to their 14.1 million followers on Instagram, Smith said: “I am so excited to bring this piece of work and music to you.

“An honest account of my life the last few years, and a sweet escape for anyone who needs it.

“I believe, after this record more than ever, that love is a cure and music is a sanctuary and honesty is my north star.

“I can’t wait to share it with you all.

“Thanks for sticking round all these years to listen.”

Smith also shared the tracklist, revealing the album will open with the Everlasting Love, followed by the title track Hazel Eyes and Moondance which features Canadian singer-songwriter Feist.

The record will also feature the TwoCity Chorus choir, a gospel choir which sang on Smith’s 2025 single To Be Free.

Hazel Eyes will be out on August 21.

The English singer-songwriter rose to fame after featuring on the 2012 Disclosure track, Latch.

A year later they went on to grab their first number one song on the Naughty Boy single La La La before topping the charts with a total of eight songs including Money On My Mind, Stay With Me and Lay Me Down.

Smith has also had three number one albums including their 2015 debut, In The Lonely Hour, 2017’s The Thrill Of It All and 2023’s Gloria.
