Sam Smith get their daily exercise after shrugging off backlash to crying snap

Sam Smith was snapped out on a walk for their daily exercise, soon after they moved past the criticism of a photo of them crying in lockdown.

Sam cut a casual but stylish figure in jeans, a sweater and white trainers, as they blared music through their headphones and sipped on coffee.

They were seen in north London, near where they're isolating with their sister.

The snaps come shortly after Sam brushed off the backlash to a picture of him crying during the lockdown.

In the photo, posted to Instagram, Sam could be seen crying into their heads on the doorstep of their home, writing: "Stages of a quarantine meltdown."

But chatting to Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston, Sam insisted their critics didn't understand the humour behind the post - and that it was inside joke between them and pals.

"It was more than six weeks ago and everyone else was posting pictures," they explained.

"I use my social media as if it's just my friends on it."

They added: "My humour didn't get picked up. I didn't mean any malice.

"I'm sharing my feelings all the time - being as human as I can - maybe people read it wrongly."

Meanwhile, speaking with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, they reckoned they've "100%" had coronavirus - and passed it on to their sister.

"I didn't get tested," they told, "But I know I have it, 100% have it.

"I'm going to assume that I did because everything I've read completely pointed to that. So yeah, I definitely think I've had it.

"And then as soon as I had it, my sister five days after me started getting the same symptoms who's living with me."
