Sam Quek celebrates perfect weekend with Footie5 victory over Jermaine Jenas

If Carlsberg did football weekends ...

Gold medal winning Olympian and lifelong Liverpool fan Sam Quek saw her beloved Reds snatch a last minute winner over Leicester, title rivals Manchester City slip up the following day, Newcastle beat Manchester United to dump Everton in the bottom three - and then celebrated victory in her weekly head to head with Footie5 rival Jermaine Jenas!

Who knew that Watford's goalless draw with Sheffield United would prove so decisive?

Dean Henderson's redemptive last minute save from Craig Dawson ensured that Sam, who predicted a draw in that match, edged the weekly head to head with Jermaine who had gone for a home win.

That meant Sam celebrated a narrow victory, three points to two.

But Jermaine still has a big lead overall, 28 points at the moment.

Sam and Jermaine both avoided the Manchester City v Wolves match, probably because they didn’t know how many City would score past Wolves.

It quickly turned into the Adam Traore show. A shock defeat for City, and a shock for the Footie5 team, not one single player predicted this upset.

But 295 players did predict a 1-0 victory for the Toon this weekend over Manchester United.

It’s taken Steve Bruce 19 years to finally overturn his old employees but Sam and Jermaine both went for a 1-1 draw in this fixture.

Looking back, I'm sure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have happily taken a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool vs Leicester saw both Sam and Jermaine predict a home win, and they were proved right thanks to last second drama from VAR and an ice cold James Milner converting from the penalty spot.

Some 2,434 players correctly predicted a 2-1 victory for The Reds. Their year?

Luckily for Manchester United and Spurs fans, they get a week off as Footie5 turns its attentions to League One, Two and the National League.

The round is now open, don’t miss it this weekend, and get your predictions in early.

Predict your five correct match scores, and win £25,000.

If you don’t fancy one of the fixtures, you can swap it out for your own selection.
