Sam Presti praises Jerami Grant for growth while with Thunder

Paul George and Russell Westbrook’s departures to the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets, respectively, have received the most attention of any moves involving the Thunder this offseason, for obvious reasons. However, the Thunder did conduct another trade, moving on from another important piece — though not nearly on the same level as the two superstars who’ve moved on.

Jerami Grant was dealt in between the George and Westbrook trades to the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder managed to acquire yet another first-round draft pick in the process.

At Thursday’s press conference, Thunder general manager had nothing but good things to say about the former Oklahoma City forward:

I think [he] is gonna be a very, very good player in the NBA. He’s a lot different player than the player I remember picking up at the airport in 2016. He was kind of on the end of the bench in Philadelphia. I couldn’t be more proud of his development and the person he is becoming.
