Sam Pittman suffered wild injury making a “Yessir” video at Georgia

While using his pet bulldog Lucy as a prop, Sam Pittman actually suffered a torn bicep while making a “Yessir” video at UGA.

Former Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman may now be head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, but he’s still beloved by many in the UGA community.

I can’t recall Georgia fans showing such admiration for an assistant coach as they did to Pittman while he was in Athens for four seasons from 2016-19.

And the love the DawgNation had for Pittman not only had to do with the stellar offensive lines he would produce, but his hilarious videos he would tweet after Georgia landed a commitment, usually from an offensive lineman.

Pittman would typically be accompanied by a prop, oftentimes a set of pompoms, that he would waive in the air as he shouted “yessir” for as long as he could hold his breath. The videos were a hit among Georgia fans. See all of his famous “Yessir” videos below.

Grayson Weird of Bro Bible outlined how the idea for these videos first began:

While at Georgia, people around the locker room began to notice that he said “yessir” a lot. He didn’t realize it, but others did.

Well, as Justin Fields was preparing to commit, one of the Bulldogs’ recruiting staffers decided to capitalize on his phrase and suggested that they record Pittman doing his signature “yessir” into the camera.

Pittman initially declined, thinking that he would look like a fool, but the staffer persisted and he eventually gave in.

“So I did it. And looked like a fool,” Pittman said. “But kids like it, so that’s all that matters.”

On Monday, Pittman revealed that these videos actually came at a cost to the now Arkansas head coach. While lifting his pet bulldog Lucy for a video Pittman heard a pop. It turned out to be a torn bicep.

To celebrate becoming bowl eligible at Arkansas this past weekend, staffers went to a local bowling alley and purchased a bowling ball for $20. Pittman named the ball “Larry.” That in itself is a good enough story right there. However, Pittman revealed that while lifting Larry the Bowling Ball, he fears he may have caused his bicep injury to flare up.
