Sam Lammers joins Rangers as Michael Beale makes it four summer recruits to date at Ibrox

Sam Lammers has become Rangers' fourth summer signing.

The Atalanta attacker has put pen to paper as he joins Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland in signing up for Michael Beale's summer overhaul at Ibrox. He becomes the first transfer to involve a fee - reported around £3.5million - after the Ibrox men swooped for his new team-mates on pre-contracts with all joining officially on July 1.

The Dutch striker joined the Serie A outfit from PSV for a reported fee in the region of £7.5m in 2020 but struggled and has since had loan spells in Germany with Frankfurt and in Italy with both Empoli and Sampdoria before making the permanent switch to Scotland.

He will now be hoping to resurrect his career in Glasgow and help fire his new club to domestic success as they bid to end Celtic's stranglehold. Champions League qualifiers are also on the horizon with two rounds needing safely navigated in order to claim a place at Europe's top table once again this campaign.

On his move, he told Rangers' official website: "I'm really excited to play for Rangers.

"It's a big club, a good opportunity for me. The first contact I had was with the manager, he told me what I was looking for.

"I think I needed a new home. The last few years I have been on loan so it is good to sign for Rangers and have a place where I can feel good again."

The striker added: "I think I have a good technique, I can shoot with both legs.

"I like to score goals of course, hopefully I can score goals for Rangers."
