Sam Howell racks up 419 total yards, 5 TDs as UNC tops Virginia

Week 1 may have been a rough start for Sam Howell’s 2021 season, but he’s been making up for it ever since.

The North Carolina quarterback turned in another impressive performance Saturday night against Virginia, throwing for 307 yards and five touchdowns in a 59-39 victory over the Cavaliers, adding another 112 yards on the ground.

It’s still a wide-open race to be the first quarterback off the board in the 2022 NFL draft, and Howell appears to be getting his candidacy back on track.
