SAM Heughan has shared what his dream career was prior to hitting big in the film and TV industry.
The Scottish actor, 43, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon ahead of the release of his third book – Clanlands in New Zealand: Kiwis, Kilts and an Adventure Down Under.
The book is co-authored with another Outlander star – Graham McTavish. The pair have previously worked together on two other Clanlands books as well as their travel show Men In Kilts.
Heughan (below) was asked by Fallon: “Did I read this right? Did you want to be a magician when you were growing up?”
He replied: “I probably wanted to be a lot of things growing up. I think I did give it a go for a while but I realised I don’t really have the, I didn’t want to put in the work, you know?
“I wanted to put on the outfit, you know the hat, the cape and the wand and all that stuff but actually learning the tricks. I was just rubbish at it.”
He continued: “I could juggle a little bit, I mean but that’s something. I think that’s why I became an actor, right?
“So then I can put on the clothes, pretend to be someone and then not do any of the work..”
Outlander is currently in the midst of its penultimate season break, with the seventh series set to resume airing next year.
