Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish delight fans with special event ahead of new book release

Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish delighted fans during a special event ahead of the release of their new book, The Clanlands Almanac.

The Outlander stars released their first book Clanlands last year and due to the popular demand, they decided to create a sequel for fans desperate for more tales of their adventures.

It was celebrated with a special event held at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh yesterday.

And the duo had a great time on stage talking all things Clanlands and thanked fans for coming along.

On Instagram, Graham McTavish wrote: "What a great day at @usherhall Edinburgh. You guys brought such a wonderful atmosphere!! Thankyou to everyone who came along to help us celebrate our new book the Clanlands almanac!

"I hope you enjoy it. Huge apologies that we weren’t able to stop and talkafterwards but we had to get to another press interview along with my shinty stick!

"Thankyou for the wonderful, thoughtful gifts. I am sincerely touched by the affection and joy that you all bring to these gatherings. See you in London tomorrow at the theatre Royal Drury lane!!!"

And fans loved it.

One said: "Thanks for a great afternoon both. You smashed it today."

Another added: "The Dynamic Duo!! You two are unstoppable. Congrats & continued success to you both! Have another great day tomorrow in London!"

While one said: "It was great - thank you! Although my mum was slightly upset that you maybe don’t fully appreciate her home, Cumbernauld."

And one added: "Loved the event today and absolutely cannot wait to read the book Excited to hear all the stories. Have tagged you both in my post about it. Enjoy the rest of your day in Edinburgh."

The pair are now on their way to London to do it all again and this time fans can watch via live stream.

Clanlands Almanac will see Sam and Graham once again turn tour guides to bring readers more epic tales in this "seasonal meander through the wilds of Scotland".

Looking at customs and traditions from First Footing to Samhain throughout the year, alongside Scottish legends and whisky lore the dynamic duo will share stories and tips for Scots and Non-Scots alike.
