To round off an absolutely amazing year for him, local lad Sam Fender will open up his own shop in Newcastle for Christmas.
The North Shields musician has had a fantastic 12 months which started with a Brit Award win for Critics Choice and has continued with a string of sell-out shows all over the world, a record-setting sell-out show at Mouth of the Tyne and a number 1 debut album with Hypersonic Missiles.
And now he's getting in the festive spirit with a pop-up store right near to O2 Academy Newcastle, the venue he packed out over two consecutive nights earlier this month.
Taking on a kebab shop theme, the Westgate Road store, which is set to open on Thursday, December 19, will sell all sorts of Sam Fender merchandise. There will be a full range of stock, including the popular "broon ale collection" which consists of a T-shirt and tote bag, as well as the recently added £5 bottle openers, £1 badges and £25 water bottles.
Alongside this, the shop will sell a number of tees, including a very limited run of the “Damn Sam” (already sold out online).
The legend Neal Fox (whose drawings have been used throughout Sam's stage show and merchandise) has designed a Trump T-shirt and the popular kebab and 90s design will be on sale too.
The most exciting new addition to Sam's merch is the “spam” hoodie, inspired by the traditional tinned food. Accessories include a Toon beanie and emblem scarf (perfect for sitting in a cold stadium!) which can be bought together as a "meal deal" for £25.
There will be temporary tattoos of all Neal Fox's illustrated characters and there are some of his limited numbered prints available too - Lowlights and Newcastle are both exclusive to the pop up.
Shoppers will get free stickers with every purchase and Sam has collaborated with local record store Vinyl Guru to sell the Hypersonic Missiles album - in vinyl, cd and tape formats. The Dead Boys EP and limited edition white vinyl 7” singles are available too.
Sam's pop-up store will be open from 12 - 8pm every day until Christmas Eve, with earlier closing on the final day.
