Sam Fender shares video for B-side ‘Howdon Aldi Death Queue’ starring Robson Green – watch

Sam Fender has shared a riotous video for his b-side “Howdon Aldi Death Queue”, which apparently sparked a huge response at the musician’s comeback show at the Georgian Theatre in Stockton last week.

The Independent is sharing the first-look at the visuals, which involve Fender and his band causing chaos in a supermarket with some help from English actor and musician Robson Green, and actor Tom Brittney.

The track marks a major switch-up in sound for Fender, with heavy punk influences.

He tells The Independent: “We recorded this two-minute punk monster of a track in one take. It was basically a joke that went too far but I’m so glad it did. The video features legends Robson Green and Tom Brittney, who we had been out fishing with on the day it was filmed. We had an absolute riot causing carnage in that supermarket!”

Fender is preparing to release his second album, Seventeen Going Under, following on from his critically adored debut, 2019’s Hypersonic Missiles.

“This album is a coming of age story. It’s about growing up. It’s a celebration of life after hardship, and it’s a celebration of surviving,” he says.

Seventeen Going Under is released on Friday 8 October via Polydor Records.
