Sam Fender hits Brits Awards red carpet as he goes for Best New Artist win

Sam Fender hot footed it down from Newcastle to London for the Brit Awards on Tuesday night.

The North Shields singer was back on home turf on Monday to play to a packed crowd at one of his rescheduled gigs at the O2 Academy - check out our review.

This time last year, Sam was at the Brits with his Critics Choice award and this year he is hoping to emerge victorious in the Best New Artist category, where he'll need to see off competition from the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Dave and Aitch.

The past few weeks have been amazing for Sam. After having to cancel gigs due to ill health, he bounced back in style by playing at Elton John's Oscars party in support of the music legend's AIDS Foundation and then the night got even better for the 25-year-old, when Sir Elton joined him on stage for a duet of single Will We Talk, taken from Sam's debut number 1 album Hypersonic Missiles.

Over the past year, Sam has played to capacity audiences across the world in the likes of Japan, Australia and America, as well as in the UK, where he now has two sell-out tours under his belt as well as a now Gold certified album.
