This time last year he'd just found out he was the recipient of the 2019 Brits Critics Choice Award and now Sam Fender has been nominated for another Brit after an amazing year.
But, while his place on the Best New Artist shortlist is great news for the North Shields singer, we, and his fans are rather shocked he's only up for one accolade at the massive music event next month.
In the past 12 months, Sam has basically take over the world, with sell out gigs in America, Australia and Japan, as well as plenty on home turf, including four at O2 Academy Newcsle.
On top of that he's gone gold with his number 1 debut album Hypersonic Missiles, so it comes as a big surprise that he's not among the contenders for Album of the Year at the Brits 2020.
That shortlist is made up of Stormzy – Heavy Is The Head, Michael Kiwanuka – Kiwanuka, Lewis Capaldi – Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, Dave – Psychodrama and Harry Styles – Fine Line.
The same five acts are all up for Best Male Solo Artist too, meaning Sam misses out in that category too and his fans, while over the moon the Will We Talk singer is firmly in the hunt for an award at the Brits 2020, are unhappy he didn't get multiple nominations.
Reacting to the reveal of the shortlists, one tweeted "What’s with the lack of Sam Fender in the Brits nominations? Hypersonic Missiles was the best album of 2019 by a mile," and tweeting the shortlist for Best Album, another ranted "Sam Fender has been robbed."
On the subject of Best Male, another reacted "i REFUSE to believe sam fender is NOT in the list of nominees for best british male," and pointing out other notable absentees from the shortlist, another viewer of nominations show The Brits are Coming, posted "No Sam Fender No Tom Walker No Ed Sheeran No Gerry Cinnamon... Bizarre. "
