Sam Fender announces huge 2023 stadium show at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park

Singer-songwriter Sam Fender has just announced he’ll be playing a huge 2023 stadium show at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park.

The singer will be heading home to play the huge show at his beloved Newcastle United on June 9 next year, becoming the first Geordie band to headline the venue - so it’s not one to miss.

Tickets for the must-see show go on sale at 10am BST on Friday, September 9. However, if you can’t wait until then, a pre-sale is available from 10am on September 7, and fans can sign up here before 5pm on September 6 to enter.

In an interview conducted by NME, Fender confirmed at the show he will be joined by Inhaler and Holly Humberstone, and promised “a few surprises," along the way.

Sam took to Instagram today to share the news with his 830,000 followers and the post has already received over 4,000 comments from fans - so it's looking like the show will be a sell-out.

He captioned the post: "It's a childhood dream come true. I always joked that one day we might play St James' Park in Newcastle, the biggest stadium in the north east, and now we're actually gonna play it on the 9th June next year. It's gonna be such a special moment and I hope you all join us for it."

Fender rose to fame after his debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ topped the UK Albums Chart by selling 41,000 copies in the first week and won himself two BRIT awards off the back of it. Following the highly-successful album release, he went on to announce his biggest UK tour to date starting in 2020 - selling out arenas across the country for the first time - so it’s safe to say, he’s a pretty big deal.

In the wake of releasing his new album, which was awarded ‘Best in the world’ by NME, Fender has played concerts and festivals all over the world, from his hometown’s Utilita Arena to Amsterdam, gaining an ever-increasing global fanbase.
