Sam Faiers teases wedding plans with Paul Knightley ahead of new Mummy Diaries

Mummy Dairies star Sam Faiers appeared on Lorraine on Monday morning where she opened up to host Christine Lampard about her wedding plans.

She revealed she was hoping her partner Paul Knightley would propose soon, as they have been together for five years and share two children, Paul, four, who starts school this week, and Rosie, two.

She also teased that viewers will see a whole new side to Paul in the new series of The Mummy Diaries, which starts on Thursday.

"There's a lot of talk about 'wifey for lifey' in this series, is that cuing wedding bells or what Paul?" Christine asked.

"Absolutely, I hope so - five years, two kids, two big moves together, so I hope so soon," Sam replied.

Christine remarked: "How cute would your two little ones be on your big day, oh my word?"

"I quite like that when we do get married one day, that they will be a bit bigger, so they will remember it," said Sam.

"Now they are not babies and they are getting bigger, it's nice to know they will remember mummy and daddy getting married."

Sam also said viewers will see a different side to Paul as he has finally got used to having cameras around.

"Five years later he's starting to be a bit more comfortable on camera," she said.

"In this series you do see a another side to Paul, he's really confident, I think it's so nice for people to see the real Paul because before, he was a little bit camera shy, I suppose.'"

Speaking about the lockdown period, Sam said she and Paul "cherished" the time with the kids.

"We're always busy with the kids and working, it's nice to break for a minute with no commitments apart from the children and giving them our undivided attention," she said.

"We just thought, 'Let's use this time, it probably won't ever happen again, and we actually really enjoyed it!'"

Teasing the upcoming series which was filmed during the family's move to Surrey in lockdown, she revealed: "We haven't hidden anything.

"There's still tantrums, tears and drama."

* Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am
