1. His full name is Samuel Holland Burns.
2. Burns was born on the July 23, 1996 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
3. The American went to Calvary Baptist Academy and then Louisiana State University.
4. Burns was a three-time individual state champion and was named AJGA Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 2014.
5. In his sophomore season, he won four tournaments in 15 collegiate starts, and was named the NCAA Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season.
6. The American made his PGA Tour debut at the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2017, where he finished T43rd.
7. In 2018, playing the Honda Classic on a sponsor's exemption, Burns was paired with Tiger Woods in the final round. He actually beat Woods on the day by two shots.
8. In his debut year on the Korn Ferry Tour, Burns won the Savannah Golf Championship and sealed his spot on the PGA Tour.
9. His best season on tour so far was 2021-22, in which he won three times at the Valspar Championship, Sanderson Farms Championship and Charles Schwab Challenge. Burns had claimed the Valspar Championship once before during the previous season for his maiden PGA Tour success.

10. His favorite golf memory was watching David Toms win the 2011 Crowne Plaza Invitational.
11. Burns' hobbies include fishing, hunting and watching American football.

13. In December 2019, Burns married his lifelong partner, Caroline Campbell. They now have a son called Bear who was born in 2024.

15. He made his Ryder Cup debut in 2023 as one of Zach Johnson’s six captain picks, representing the USA in their loss to Europe in Rome. He also represented America in the 2022 Presidents Cup.
16. Burns is close friends with three-time Major winner and World No.1, Scottie Scheffler, with whom he regularly stays with on tour along with their families. They have known each other since they were teenagers.
17. His caddie is Travis Perkins, a former professional who himself had a short spell on the PGA Tour.
18. He has earned over $31 million on the PGA Tour.
19. His best finish at a Major was a T9th at the 2024 US Open. That was his first Major top-10.

21. Burns has come close to winning a sixth PGA Tour title on several occasions since landing the 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. He was T2nd at the 2024 BMW Championship in the FedEx Cup Playofffs while he also lost in a playoff to Ryan Fox at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open.
22. Burns made his second Presidents Cup appearance in 2024 as Team USA defeated Team International 18.5 - 11.5. Burns won 3.5 points out of a possible four.
23. Burns has played golf with US President Donald Trump on multiple occasions - most recently in November 2024.
24. In January 2024, Burns shot a career low 61 (11-under) during the second round of the American Express at the Nicklaus Tournament Course.
