Sam Allardyce wants to 'wind up' Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after getting West Brom job

Sam Allardyce has teased he's hoping to wind up Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after returning to management with West Bromwich Albion.

The former Everton manager was unveiled on Thursday after replacing Baggies boss Slaven Bilic on Wednesday, ending a two-and-a-half year absence from the Premier League following his Goodison exit in the summer of 2018.

And speaking to Jim White on TalkSPORT after being confirmed as Baggies manager, the 66-year-old had a message for the German and the Premier League's other top bosses following his return to the top-flight.

Asked if he is looking forward to facing the likes of Klopp, Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti, Allardyce replied: “I just hope I can wind them up again, that is all!”

Still the last away manager to lead his side to a Premier League victory at Anfield, dating back to April 2017 when in charge of Crystal Palace, Allardyce will have the opportunity to reacquaint himself with Klopp over the festive period with Liverpool set to host West Brom on December 27th.
