Sam Allardyce offers Leeds United transfer advice; Mancheser United and Arsenal target to sign new contract at Championship club; QPR, Reading and Millwall battle for winger - latest gossip

Allardyce's advice

Sam Allardyce says Leeds United should not change their squad drastically if they win promotion.

He told Talksport: "I think you look at the spend of Fulham and Huddersfield. Huddersfield managed to stay for one season and then failed miserably. Fulham went past £100m and failed.

"You have the fans and then you have the owners, and then the owner and manager. If you’re looking at relegation are the owners going to stick by the manager to bring them back?

"You’ve got to try and put together a team and buying 10 players who don’t know each other won’t work. If I had £120m I would spend the money on four or five players that were quality, not 10."

Coniah's new contract

Get Reading report that young Reading goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke is set to sign a new deal with the club.

The teenager has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG, but the Royals are about to tie him down to a three-year deal.

Boyce-Clarke, 16, is an England youth international and has already played for Reading's under-23 side.

Trio want winger

HITC Sport claim that Reading, QPR and Millwall are all keen on a move for Scunthorpe United winger Josh Morris.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at Glanford Park, having rejected several offers to extend his deal following their relegation to League Two.

His availability has alerted a number of clubs, but the Championship trio seem in a better position than any League One club to sign him.
