Salvation Army van stuck in Maryhill tunnel sparks North Glasgow traffic chaos

A Salvation Army van has become stuck in a tunnel in Maryhill sparking traffic chaos in the north of Glasgow.

Pictures and videos shared on social media appear to show the van wedged in the tunnel at Lochburn Road at the Forth and Clyde Canal's Stockingfield Junction.

The tunnel has a height restriction 9ft 3 or 2.8m, and photos suggest the driver and a passenger have been attempting to let air out of the tyres in a bid to free the vehicle.

Police Scotland were contacted for comment by Glasgow Live but said they had not been made aware of the incident.

Meanwhile, the Salvation Army have been contacted for comment.
