'Salty' Manchester City send congratulations message in suspect Liverpool snub

Liverpool have now officially been crowned Premier League champions.

It’s a statement that Reds fans will never get tired of hearing, and the moment Jordan Henderson lifted the trophy is one the Anfield faithful will never get bored of watching.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were presented with the trophy after their 5-3 win over Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday night, in their final home league fixture of a historic season.

The Reds still have an away trip to Newcastle at the weekend before they can put their feet up and relax before preparing for next season.

Wednesday night also saw the final round of Championship matches, with plenty of drama up and down the division.

At the top, Leeds United were joined by West Bromwich Albion in being automatically promoted to the Premier League.

Brentford, Fulham, Cardiff and Swansea will compete in the play-offs for the final promoted club.

Manchester City posted a tweet congratulating Leeds and Albion on their promotion success, something which caught the eye of Liverpool fans on the night the Reds lifted the trophy.

City congratulated the Reds on winning the title after it was confirmed in June, but that didn't stop fans from responding to their tweet.

Scores of Liverpool fans would remind the Citizens about which club were crowned domestic champions on Wednesday night with plenty of cheeky jibes in tow as some labelled them 'salty' and asked those at the Etihad 'how their day was going'.
