Saltcoats Victoria on the hunt for new manager after boss resigns three days into season

Saltcoats Victoria are looking for a new manager after boss Iain McMillan resigned from the club today.

The North Ayrshire side are on the hunt for a new gaffer just days after the West of Scotland League kicked off.

The Campbell Park side lost their opening Conference A clash 3-2 to Lugar Boswell Thistle at the weekend.

Saltcoats had gone into the season in high spirits following victory over Irvine Vics in the Sheena Thomson Memorial Trophy match.

A club statement issued on behalf of the committee read: "Today Saltcoats Victoria Football Club can confirm that our manager Iain McMillan and goalkeeping coach Allan McMillan have resigned from their roles.

"We wish both Iain and Allan all the best for the future.

"Blair Gilmour has been appointed our interim manager and will be bringing in Kris Gilhooley as his assistant manager."
