Salt Bae is hiring chefs for his UK restaurant - and the hourly wage is the same as the price of corn on the cob on his menu.

Nusr-Et, based in Knightbridge, is run by Nusret Gökçe, aka Salt Bae.

The venue is looking for a Chef de Partie to work in the kitchen - but the pay is the same as a portion of corn on the cob or mashed potato from its menu, according to My London.
A Chef de Partie usually works in one area of the kitchen, taking charge of several cooks and assistants in one go.
The advert claims to offer a “competitive salary”, although it goes on to state that the successful candidate will be paid an hourly rate of £12 plus tips.
The restaurant has hit headlines in recent weeks, earning itself a reputation for gold-wrapped steaks and landing customers with outrageously expensive bills at the end of the meal.

Advertising the vacancy on Caterer.com, Salt Bae’s advert reads: “Amazing opportunity for an experienced Chef De Partie to join Nusret team in the new restaurant in London!
“As a Chef De Partie, you will be working with some of the finest ingredients from the UK and abroad in [the] one of the most famous steakhouses in the world.

“You will play a vital part in a large team and will support the Head Chef during service.
“To the successful candidate Nusret London offers a highly competitive salary and excellent opportunities to develop a global career.
“If you’re a Chef de Partie looking to work [in] the famous steakhouse, send your CV, we want to hear from you!”
Nusr-Et’s latest vacancy comes after no candidates turned up to the restaurant’s hiring day last month.
After putting out a call for staff on Instagram, Nusr-Et appealed for waiters, runners, bartenders, bar backs, kitchen porters and toilet attendants to come into the restaurant and drop their CVs off.
However, when approached by the Sun on the day, a member of staff said they had yet to have anyone stop by.

Salt Bae became an internet sensation in 2017 after pictures of him flamboyantly sprinkling salt on steak went viral.
Nusr-Et’s hiring woes come against the backdrop of the staffing crisis gripping the capital in the wake of the pandemic and Brexit.
Many of London’s restaurants have struggled to hire and keep staff, with many having left the UK as a result of the pandemic and many struggling to come to work in the UK as a result of Brexit.
Statistics released by the Office for National Statistics show that the number of job vacancies between July and September this year had reached a record high of 1.1 million in the UK, with online job postings rising by 60 per cent for the hospitality industry between July 2020 and July 2021.
