A salon owner who cited the Magna Carta as a reason to defy national lockdown rules faces legal action over her failure to start paying her £17,000 fine.
Sinead Quinn, who owns Quinn Blakey Hairdressers in Oakenshaw, near Bradford, had failed to close her business when a national lockdown was imposed at the end of October.
She claimed Magna Carta gave her the right to ignore the lockdown legislation and kept running her business in defiance of national rules imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Ms Quinn was given 28 days to pay from the date the fixed penalty notice fine was issued, the YorkshireLive reports.

The first fine, for £1,000, was issued on November 10.
Kirklees Council has confirmed Ms Quinn hasn't paid a penny towards her fine yet and now faces legal action over her failure to cough up the sum.
A council spokesman confirmed legal action will be taken to recover unpaid fines although the precise nature of the legal action is unknown.
Ms Quinn declined to comment.

On November 29 she set up a Go Fund Me online page which has raised over £7,000 to date.
Writing on the page, she said: "By no means do I think the council will be successful in trying to extort money from me.
"I am simply doing this so that people don’t take it upon themselves to create a GoFundMe on my behalf and possibly run off with the money!
"I’m confident in the fact we will win this fight, so in that case the money will go to my amazing brother."

She added: "He is an amazing soul and he gives me the confidence to fight every single day. He is my best friend and I wouldn’t be able to do this without him.
She signs off the message: "POWER TO THE PEOPLE."
More than 300 people have made a donation on the page.
